Bat on the one side, the pumpkin through fall.
Turn them at dusk and the colors still rhyme.
Cloth for the work and the watching of time.

The bag is a night that a canvas can hold —
Starry and swirling, a pocket of gold.
Tuck in the rest so the gift doesn’t spill.
Carry it gentle. Come back when you will.

Herb cards for kitchens where little ones stay:
chamomile, elder, and aloe by day.
Not a whole apothecary — just what I use
when the house asks for calm and a practical bruise.

Azurite, blue, for the prayer of the making.
Tiger’s eye, warm, for the courage of taking
the next crooked stitch when the light gets thin.
Stickers for laughter. Then tuck yourself in.

Go on, little familiar. The workbench is done.
Take what I made you. Deliver it. Run.
